Fundraising efforts

Fundraising is an intregal function of the Kiwanis Club, as vertually all youth projects of the club require money. Kiwanis International bylaws require that any funds collected by requesting funds from the public must be used exclusively for youth programs. Funds obtained by club members doing service work may be used for sustaining the club.

Pancake/French Toast Day:

Coordinate the selling of tickets for the pancake feed. Arrange for the location and for members to help with the setup, food preparation, serving, and clean up for this one day project. The pancake feed is normally held in early spring. This is one of the primary fund-raisers of the club.

Peanut Day:

Members volunteer to hand out packets of peanuts at various stores throughout Lincoln. The Service Leadership Programs participate in the day. Donations are used to help fund children’s projects.

Lancaster Events Center:
     1. Coordinate members to help with working the Lancaster Event Center & Pinnacle Bank Arena events concessions. Members volunteer to work at the concessions and the club is reimbursed for the member's time at the center.
    2. Members are "ambassadors" for the Lancaster County Fair, manning the information booth offering assistance to attendees.

Wish ‘n Spin:

Locations are requested for placement of the Wish & Spin "wells". The wells change location about every three months.
Members monitor and collect the money from the machines regularly. Funds collected are used for various projects of Kiwanis. Funds collected for the display of business cards is shared with Kiwanis for assistance to projects.
